Implants
Dental Implants are an excellent option for replacing missing or lost teeth. They are used to replace a single missing tooth, multiple missing teeth, or even to support removable dentures. An implant is a titanium post, resembling a screw, that is placed in the bone underneath the gums. Stitches are then placed in the gum tissue and the implant is allowed to heal for 4-6 months. This allows for the implant to become integrated with the bone. After the healing period, a replacement tooth is attached to the implant resulting in a restoration that resembles a natural tooth.
Our office works in conjunction with a dental specialist (either an oral surgeon or periodontist) who will place the implant in the bone underneath your gums. After healing, you will return to our office, where we will restore the implant with an artificial tooth.
