Root Canal Treatment
Inside each of our teeth is the pulp which provides nutrients and nerves to the tooth. If the pulp is damaged by disease or fracture, the pulp tissue can die. If the pulp is not removed, it can become infected which can cause a considerable amount of discomfort. If left untreated, the tooth may need to be extracted.
Root Canal Treatment is the removal of the diseased pulp followed by the cleaning and sealing of the root canal. After completion of the Root Canal, the tooth must be restored with a filling or a crown in order to prevent it from fracturing.
For more complex Root Canal Treatments, a referral to a root canal specialist, or Endodontist, might be necessary.
